# Release Details

**Product**: Marketplace - VMS

**Release Date**: 7/1/2025

**Summary: **A new feature which allows Vendors to accurately display their physical store hours and support late closing times past midnight.

# Overview

> ⚠️ In order to see these changes on the mobile app, you must be on version 10.10.0 of the [mobile app](https://help.getequiem.com/space/CS/1394835596/Mobile+Releases#Version-10.10.0).

## Store Hours

### Background

Previously, Vendors could only define a single set of `Trading hours`, which applied both to when their physical store was open and when they accepted online orders. This could create confusion particularly for businesses that:

1. Operate during a broader range of hours than they accept orders (e.g., a café open 7am–7pm but only accepting orders from 10am–7pm)
2. Stay open past midnight, but were forced to set their close time to 23:59 or incorrectly list themselves as open 24/7. A typical example of this type of business is a restaurant or bar.

These constraints made it difficult for Vendors to accurately communicate their availability to customers.

Clear, accurate store hours are essential for improving user understanding and encouraging in-person visits.

### Removal of the `Closed` Store Overlay

As part of these changes we’ve removed the original implementation of the `Closed` store. Previously, if the current time was outside a Vendor’s trading hours, the store will show a `Closed` overlay on the store image as per the below examples. This could cause confusion when the store may actually be open but not available for online ordering.

![image](media://b7e94611-3e80-439a-a738-7a3de3d7c70d)

Now, whether a store is open for online ordering, or for in-person service, is entirely dependent on the `Store hours` and `Online ordering` settings on the Vendor’s account in Store Manager.

> ℹ️ We have renamed `Trading hours` to `Online ordering` as part of this change. Refer to the [FAQs](https://equiem.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CS/pages/1795620866/Marketplace+-+Store+Opening+Hours#FAQs) for further details.

Your store will only ever be hidden on the web/mobile apps if the `Status` is set to `Hidden` in the `Vendor Settings` page:

#### Information Banner (Web Only)

In conjunction with removing the `Closed` overlay on stores, we’ve introduced an additional banner on web for a Vendor’s store page to indicate to end-users that they may not be able to order products online because the current time is outside the Vendor’s current `Online ordering` hours:

`You can browse any available deals, subscriptions, products & services below. If offered, online orders are currently closed. Check the Store Hours to visit in person.`

> ⚠️ It’s by design that this banner hasn’t been implemented on mobile.

### Configuring Store Hours

> ℹ️ `Store hours` are optional and by default will not be configured in the VMS. You’ll need to set them manually for them to appear on the web and mobile apps.

1. Log into Store Manager (VMS) via your regional URL e.g. [au.vendor.getequiem.com](http://au.vendor.getequiem.com) for the Australian region.
2. Navigate to the `Vendor Settings` option in the left hand side menu.
3. Scroll down in the `Store Details` section and you’ll see the checkbox `Display store hours`. Select the checkbox to configure your store hours.

4. To configure an open/close time on the same day, simply tick the particular day and enter the time in the respective `Opens` and `Closes` fields e.g:

5. To configure an open/close time which spans two days e.g. you operate between 8:00pm on a Tuesday and 4:00am on a Wednesday simply tick the particular start day and enter the time in the respective `Opens` and `Closes` fields e.g:

> ⚠️ You can choose times in 15 minute intervals. If you store closes at another time e.g. 9.05.pm, please select the closest internal. If no times are set, your store will show as physically open 24/7.

### What an End-User Sees

Previously the original `Trading hours` would be shown in the below format. We’ve made several improvements which are covered off below.

![image](media://1c96a132-6566-468f-aa34-947b13de2fc6)

The key differences across both web and mobile are:

1. There’s now a dedicated section for both the `Store hours` and `Online ordering` hours.
2. These sections can be expanded and collapsed when there are particular days of the week with restrictions.
3. If the current time is inside the Vendor’s `Store hours` then we will show an `OPEN` or `CLOSED` tag to better illustrate if the physical store is open.
4. If the current time is inside the Vendor’s `Online ordering` hours then we will show an `OPEN` or `CLOSED` tag to better illustrate if it’s possible to make an order through their online store.
5. We’ve modified the `Ready in` information when a turnaround time applies to products.

#### Web Examples

##### Store Hours are Disabled

When the store doesn’t have `Store hours` enabled it will not show this section and appear as follows:

##### Unrestricted Store Hours (24/7)

When the store has `Store hours` enabled but no restrictions it will be open 24/7 and appear as follows:

![image](media://c8b18954-b61d-44d8-86e9-169df2608394)

#### Mobile Examples

We’ve made changes to two screens on mobile:

- The store landing screen itself
- The store’s more information screen

##### Store Landing Screen

Previously the layout of a vendor’s store appeared as follows:

We’ve improved how you can tell if a store is both physically open (for in person visits) and is available for online ordering. The below example illustrates a store which has both `Store hours` enabled in Store Manager and has restricted `Online ordering` hours.

![IMG_0301.PNG](media://81600f54-4996-49fd-bc53-24aa28db0e9d)

Below the address we’ve implemented 3 key changes:

1. There’s a new section called `Store hours` which indicates (providing a vendor has [configured them](https://equiem.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CS/pages/1795620866/Marketplace+-+Store+Opening+Hours#Configuring-Store-Hours)) if the vendor’s physical store is currently open and until what time.
2. There’s a new section called `Online ordering` which indicates if the vendor is open for orders through their online store and until what time. *(The turnaround time is shown in brackets. Note that some products may have independent turnaround times which are shown when viewing the product themselves)*
3. A new `View full store info` button which replaces the original `More information` link. This functionally behaves the same as before i.e. it will take you to the store’s `More information` screen as per the below example:

![IMG_0302.PNG](media://0e5e25d5-2520-4d16-9646-b8889dbaadb8)

The variations of store states are shown below.

![IMG_0306.PNG](media://3524bab4-12ca-44a9-a8e6-2dfd82da0996)

A store can also be open beyond the current day i.e. into the following morning. If configured to do so, the `Store hours` will appear as follows:

![IMG_0308.PNG](media://0316a746-f217-4370-88f5-66a5c274c1f9)

## FAQs

| **Question** | **Answer** |
| --- | --- |
| Will `Store hours` be enabled by default? | No, it will need enabling and configuring. This is because it is optional and may not make sense for all Vendors e.g. vendors who may sell digital products and do not have a physical store for in-person service. |
| How do I update the `Store hours` for my Vendor account or on behalf of a Vendor? | [Refer to this section.](https://equiem.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CS/pages/1795620866/Marketplace+-+Store+Opening+Hours#Configuring-Store-Hours) |
| How do I configure my store to be open across two days e.g. late Tuesday evening until early Wednesday morning? | [Refer to this section.](https://equiem.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CS/pages/1795620866/Marketplace+-+Store+Opening+Hours#Configuring-Store-Hours) |

| Has the name for this original setting changed?<br>![image](media://7ca85d4e-1a61-4b6d-ada7-ef1304392ec7) | Yes. We’ve renamed `Trading hours` to instead be `Online ordering` hours so it makes more sense and also aligns with how we display it to end-users on the web and mobile apps. Functionally it’s exactly the same as it was before. |
| Are there any impacts to when online orders can be made for the following product types:<br>- Plain product
- Booking product
- Subscription product | No. They remain the same and can only be ordered if within the `Online ordering` settings in Store Manager. We will be doing future work to determine if changes are needed to these settings and which product types these hours apply to. |
| Are Deal type products affected by these changes? | No. |
| Why are `Store hours` optional but `Online ordering` hours aren’t? | We will be doing future discovery work to determine if further changes are needed to these settings. |
| Has there been any change to how the `Deal vendor` type works? | No, the `Store hours` and `Online ordering` do not apply to the `Deal vendor`. All of these changes apply to the `Standard vendor` type. |
